MORE SPEED IN THE MOUNTAIN BIKE
When Team Jumbo-Visma decided to race cross country they turned to us for an answer. The ZHT-5 marks a new era for Cervélo and for the team, because we will race together. Our engineering expertise has already been proven in cyclocross (R5-CX) and dirt racing (Áspero), and now we've upped the ante by designing a mountain bike worthy of the Cervélo name.
The ZHT-5 is Cervélo through and through: fast, efficient and fun to drive. The 69-degree head tube angle, modern reach and short chainstays combine to deliver a bike that is stable at speed and nimble enough to move deftly in a group. Cockpit and geometry combine to keep the rider's weight centered and stable, whether it's relaunching inside an uphill hairpin or throwing yourself over the rear to gain time downhill.
SPEED FIRST
Our mantra is to make cyclists faster. And that means creating bikes that can turn power into motion as efficiently as possible. On dirt, nothing is more efficient than a hardtail. But power is nothing without control, so we focused on crafting a super responsive cross-country bike that's easy to handle in technical sections, capable of making you want to go even faster.
STIFF, LIGHTWEIGHT AND READY TO FIGHT
Weighing only 907 g (size M), the ZHT-5 embodies the essence of lightness combined with the speed that only a hardtail can offer. Decades of frames built for the world's strongest sprinters have spawned the blueprint for a super-stiff mountain bike where weight doesn't compromise ride quality at all.
MODERN GEOMETRIES FOR THE MODERN XC BIKER
If you haven't ridden a hardtail in a while, you'd be surprised how the ZHT-5's 69-degree head tube angle, 457mm reach (size L), and 430mm chainstays helped make this current and modern type of bicycle. But if you've always driven them, you'll be surprised to see how we've managed to squeeze even more performance out of such a clean and simple design. The geometry of the ZHT-5 is able to put you in the best position to easily tackle even the tightest passages that characterize modern XC tracks.
